ELCA는 Entrepreneurial Leadership Canada의 약자로써 캐나다의 토론토를 중심으로 다양한 영역에서 전문성을 갖고 있는 멘토 들과의 네트워킹 및 멘토링을 통하여, 참여자가 추구하는 비전 및 목표 달성을 돕고, 더 나아가 한인 지역사회에 건전한 나눔 문화 형성에 기여를 목적으로 하기위해 2019년도에 만들어진 비영리단체입니다. (CORPORATION NUMBER: 1160655-7)

ELCA는 우선적으로 고등학생부터 대학생 및 사회 초년생, 취준생, 창업가를 대상으로 하는 멘토링 프로그램에 초점을 맞추고 있으며 다양한 영역별 전문가 초빙을 통한 세미나 및 강의 (취업, 창업, 마케팅, 법률, 회계, 사업 등)을 꾸준히 진행해왔습니다. 또한 인턴십 프로그램을 만들고 지원해 왔으며 멘티들의 자기 개발을 위한 장학금 프로그램 운영함으로써 그들의 적극적 참여를 유도하기도 하였습니다.이를 통해 세대간 및 회원들 간의 네트워킹을 통해 동반성장 모색하고 실무 경험을 위한 다양한 프로젝트 진행 및 워크샵을 진행하고 있으며 교육을 통해 캐나다 내 한인 이민자로서의 정체성 구축에 도움을 주고 적응을 도와 사회구성원으로 자리를 잡을 수 있는 기회부여를 제공하고 있습니다.

ELCA의 멘토링 프로그램은 단순히 멘티들의 전공을 살려주고 지식을 전달하는 것이 목적이 아닌 다양한 필드에서의 경험을 가지고 있는 멘토님들과 네트워크를 통해 전공 분야가 아니더라도 다양한 간접 경험을 하고 이를 통하여 좀 더 세상을 넓게 보고 성장할 수 있도록 초점을 맞추고 있습니다. 당장 결과물에 초점을 맞추는 것이 아닌 더 나은 미래를 그릴 수 있는 계기를 만들어 주고 있으며 이를 통해 멘티들 스스로 자신들의 미래에 대해 제대로 고민하고 개척해 나갈 수 있게 합니다.

또한, 멘토링을 마친 멘티들이 다음 멘티들의 선배 멘토가 되어 후배들을 이끌어주면서 본인들이 받았던 경험을 함께 베풀 수 있게 하고 있으며, ELCA라는 단체 안에서 모두가 멘토가 되어 후배들을 지속적으로 양성해 나가고 멘토들끼리 네트워크를 통해 서로에게 유익한 인맥을 만들어가고 있습니다.

경험 있는 멘토와 간절한 멘티들이 멘토링을 통하여 함께 성장할 수 있는 관계를 맺어 감으로써 서로의 목표를 향해 함께 한 걸음 씩 다가갈 수 있기를 바랍니다.

Entrepreneurial Leadership Canada (ELCA) is a non-profit organization established in 2019 in Toronto, Canada (CORPORATION NUMBER: 1160655-7). ELCA's mission is to foster a supportive culture within the Korean community by helping individuals achieve their visions and goals through networking and mentorship with professionals from various fields.

ELCA primarily focuses on mentoring programs for high school or university students, early career professionals, job seekers, and aspiring entrepreneurs. We have consistently organized seminars and lectures featuring experts in various fields such as employment, entrepreneurship, marketing, law, accounting, and business. Additionally, ELCA offers internship opportunities and operates scholarship programs to encourage mentees to actively engage in their personal development. Through these initiatives, we promote intergenerational networking, foster mutual growth among members, and provide hands-on projects and workshops that help participants gain practical experience. Our educational programs also assist Korean immigrants in Canada in building their identity and adapting to life as contributing members of society.

The purpose of ELCA's mentoring programs extends beyond simply guiding mentees in their chosen fields. By connecting them with mentors who possess diverse experiences, we offer mentees the opportunity to gain a broad perspective, even outside their area of study. Rather than focusing solely on immediate outcomes, our programs are designed to provide mentees with the tools to envision a brighter future and to encourage them to actively shape and pioneer their own paths.

Furthermore, ELCA fosters a culture where mentees, upon completing their mentoring journey, have the opportunity to become senior mentors for the next generation. By passing on the knowledge and experience they’ve gained, they contribute to the continuous growth of ELCA’s community, where every member can be both a mentor and a mentee, creating a strong network of support and collaboration.

Through these relationships between experienced mentors and driven mentees, ELCA helps both parties achieve their goals and build a successful future together.
